Aurum The Global School believes in promoting global mindedness in its students. Integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into school practices benefit students by fostering a sense of global awareness, responsibility and understanding. It helps them contribute to addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and environmental sustainability. Additionally, incorporating SDGs into education promotes critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and encourages active citizenship, preparing students to be informed and engaged global citizens. Hence, Aurum has incorporated several SDGs in its routine functioning.

Good Health and Well-being

Aurum aims to develop healthy eating habits and promote well being in all its students. The school observes Fruit break everyday in which students enjoy seasonal fruits. The school promotes does not allow students to bring junk food for the lunch.

A positive metal state contributes to emotional resilience, effective coping mechanisms, and the ability to navigate life’s challenges. Hence, Aurum conducts regular counseling sessions on maintaining a good mental health.

Aurum acknowledges the role that education plays in creating inclusive and peaceful society thereby accelerating economic growth. Aurum has created goals and metrics meant to address many facets of education, such as inclusion, lifelong learning, and quality and accessibility. Aurum recognises that attaining gender equality is critical for fostering economic growth and creating sustainable societies, in addition to being a fundamental human right. It advocates for radical measures to eradicate discriminatory laws and practices, dismantle gender norms and stereotypes, and establish an atmosphere that allows both genders to fully engage in all facets of society. Aurum provides equal opportunities in academics and extra-curricular activities to all its students.

Clean water and Sanitation

Aurum understands the importance of access to clean water and sanitation in promoting health and supporting sustainable development. It supports water-use efficiency by reducing pollution and eliminating dumping. The school premises are equipped with RO water system to encourage access to clean water.

Affordable and Clean Energy

Today’s global need is affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. In a bid to use modern and sustainable energy, the school has installed environment friendly solar panel system to meet its energy requirements through utilization of natural renewable solar power.

Decent Work and Economic Growth

Aurum promotes its staff productivity through innovation, technical advancement, and diversification. It secures the rights of staff and promotes safe and secure working environments for all. It promotes trainings and conducts regular workshops that encourage creativity and economic growth. It also promotes policies to eliminate gender-based discrimination at its premises. Aurum also conducts regular sessions on understanding of good workplace environment for its senior students to prepare them for future.

In accordance with SDG 9, Aurum has a quality, reliable, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure, including transportation, water, sanitation, and energy systems. It promotes scientific research and encourages innovation. Aurum also highlights the importance of technological progress through projects and workshops for its students to achieve sustainable development.

Aurum leaves no one behind and promotes inclusivity. It promotes the social and economic inclusion of all, irrespective of sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, or economic or other status. All students and staff members are given equal opportunity to participate and grow.

Responsible consumption and production

Aurum aims to encourage the efficient use of natural resources, minimize waste generation, and promote sustainable lifestyles for long-term health of the planet and its resources. Aurum discourages plastic use and its events are plastic free events. It uses waste materials for decorations and re-uses them whenever possible. It emphasizes the application of 3 Rs- reduce, reuse and recycling to all its students and staff.

Climate action

Aurum constantly educates and raises awareness on climate change mitigation. The students regularly visit Bio-diversity park and nearby natural sites for enhanced climatic awareness.

Life on land

Aurum regularly addresses issues such as deforestation, land degradation, and loss of biodiversity, promoting sustainable land management practices to ensure the health and resilience of terrestrial ecosystems. The students go on excursions like bird-watching to appreciate the diversity of flora and fauna on earth. Students work on several school projects focusing promotion of sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably managing forests and combating desertification.
